Make it a routine to clean your drains! How? It’s simple. All you need is: ¼ cup of baking soda; ¾ cup of vinegar; and boiling water. Pour the baking soda and vinegar down your kitchen sink drain. It will form a chemical reaction, and break down any soap scum, food, and other substances that stick inside your pipes. Now, boil your water. This will give the baking soda and vinegar some time to break down the substances. After about 10-15 minutes, pour the water down the drain! Polybutylene, otherwise known as ‘Poly­B’, is most common in homes from the late 70s to mid 90s and was used because it was inexpensive to buy and install. As time goes on, Poly-B deteriorates and can leak and cause flooding in the home if not replaced. JJ’s Plumbing has you covered!
